Welcome to www.caseplants.com, the web home of Case Plants. We hope you enjoy our site and find the information here useful!
We are a garden center located just inside the SC State Farmers Market in Columbia, SC. We are the very first garden center on the right as you enter the gate to the market. (directions) We are open year round (tho' when it's cold and wet, we sometimes run away and hide - like lately, we've been opening at 10AM).

For now, (        ) we are usually open from 9:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, 9:00am until 6:00pm Friday & Saturday, and 1:00pm until 6:00pm on Sundays.  Usually we stay later (or come in early) - but if you definitely need us after hours, call us. We do sometimes close early due to inclement weather.

If you need us to be open for you at other times, please call us (803-799-3301) so we can arrange to accomodate you. We want you to be able to get the plants you want when you are able to get them and to be happy with the selections you make. Alternate number (803) 206-3091.

We realize that for some of you we may be a little out of your way, but if you come visit, we will do everything we can to make the drive (now more than ever) worth it! For those close to us - visit several times a week - we change daily just to keep your attention.

Have you tried Thentix yet?  It's a little different for us in that it is a skin conditioner.  You may wonder what this kind of product is doing in a garden center.  The answer is that it is great for anyone working with plants or in a garden.  This skin conditioner is not like any other you've tried - it is a natural solution for many skin problems.  We've launched a website just for it.  Next time you're in, give it a try.

We are proud to present a new potting medium / soil amendment / super mulch.  Starting now we will carry Coco Peat (Coir).
Coco Peat out performs regular peat and saves the peat bogs!  Coco Peat is made from coconut husk fiber: a renewable by-product from the coconut harvesting process.  Coco Peat makes an excellent growing medium for container plants or add it to sandy soil to increase the water holding capacity or for heavy clay soil to help break it up.  Coco Peat has natural rooting hormones and anti-fungal properties.
Coco Peat:
  • can be used in seed starting mixes, bedding plants, planters, soil mixes, gardens and container plants.  Anywhere you would use peat moss.
  • holds water rather than shedding it like the traditional peat does.  It holds 8-9 times it's weight in water.
  • has the ability to store and release nutrient for extended periods of time.  It also has great oxygenation properties which is important for healthy root development.
  • is very slow to disintegrate, whereas peat breaks down within two years after application.  Coco Peat only begins to break down when it is 10 years old and has a pH of 5.0 - 6.8 which is neutral to slightly acidic.
It's easy to use.  Just put your compressed Coco Peat
brick in a container, add 3 - 4 gallons of water and let it
sit until the water is absorbed, fluff it up and it is ready to use.
